Hi! My name is Charleen. I am the owner
and photographer at Magic Oak Studio.
I have been a photographer for over ten years. I have worked in commercial studios and worked independently as well. I love bringing a little bit of magic and whimsy into the lives of both children and adults alike! Fairytale sessions are my absolute favorite so I decided to dedicate my entire studio to them!

Fairytale Session
The Fairytale Session includes an hour of play and photo time reserved just for you. You will have lots of time to choose your dress, wings, and accessories, while exploring the backdrops and props. We will work together to create beautiful images that tell a magical story. Once the wings are on, the little ones like to stay and play for a little while, and who can blame them?! It's not every day that you get to dress up like a magical forest fairy!

Where are you located and where can I park?
Magic Oak Studio is located at 8695 Archer ave. in Willow Springs Illinois. We are in Suite #17 on the 3rd floor, which can be accessed by stairs or by elevator. Parking is ample and completely free. The fastest way to find me is to enter through the front door between the Florist and the Barber. The building can also be accessed from the rear, near the Dragons Den shop.
What to expect from a Magic Oak Studio Portrait Session?
A Magic Oak Session consists of five steps. Book. Pay. Photo session day, yay!! Photo reveal and sales session. Portrait and product delivery. I aim to make sure the photo session is fun, the photos look great, the prices are clear and up front (no hidden fees or bait and switch) and the beautiful and high quality products are delivered in a timely manner!
How should I prepare for a photo session? Should I bring anything?
There is no need to bring anything with you. We have a wardrobe of fairy dresses and wings for you to choose from! You can absolutely bring a favorite dress, costume or items you would like to use for the session and we will use those if you like. We do however suggest that you arrive with hair done and ready for photos. We do not have a stylist on site.
Are there any age limits or requirements?
There are no age limits. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the magic! Please be aware that the smallest dresses in the studio are 24 months and it is best to wait until babies can sit up on their own for the best photo results.
Can you accommodate special needs?
Yes, absolutely! The studio is wheelchair accessible and I do my best to ensure that it is sensory friendly and welcoming for all. If you have any concerns or have information you feel that I should be aware of before the photo session, simply reach out to me by phone or email. My goal is to make sure everyone feels welcome and is having fun!
How can I pay?
A deposit is required to book an appointment and the remainder of the balance is due on or before the photo session date. Payments can be made on the website or in person at the studio.
How long will it take for me to receive my photos?
From the day of your photo session, your photos will be ready to view in 2 to 4 weeks. We will set up a time to view and choose your photos and place any additional orders. After the order is placed and paid, your items will be delivered to you in 4 weeks or less.
Do you do any other types of photos besides Fairytale Portraits?
Yes! I have extensive experience doing family portraits, high school senior portraits, and Holiday/Christmas portraits as well! I have a separate pricing sheet for each of those so if you are interested, please reach out and I will send you more information based on your needs!
What is the difference between a Magic Session and a Family Portraits?
During a Magic Session you have access to dresses, flower crowns and wings. Photos will be taken on 2-3 magical backdrops and edited with magical details to pop off the screen (or page)!
A traditional family portrait session can take place in the studio or on location and includes a digital download link of the photos from your session. The edits are standard edits (no magic sparkles). The menu for wall art and prints is the same.
